Would appreciate real input on bbw dating sites better than just using Tinder, especially from anyone who stuck with it past week one. Where I keep getting stuck is the actual member count.

Nobody warns you that how many live accounts there are on using Tinder is worse in smaller towns than in cities. My rule now is simple: judge just using Tinder on genuine member numbers in the first three days or move on. I'd settle for getting a conversation started at this point. I suspect BBW daters will disagree with me here and that's fine.

Would still like to hear from anyone who cracked bbw dating sites better than just using Tinder properly.

Going against the thread — the sites in question has been fine for me. Two weeks on the sites in question tells you more about whether the traffic is real than any review will. What people miss about using Tinder is that how bad whether anyone replies gets scales with the size of your city. The reason using Tinder feels harder than it should is that nothing about how many live accounts there are gets disclosed anywhere obvious.

You can usually tell within a week whether the sites in question is going to work for replies that are not one word. I stopped worrying about Tinder these days and started judging on how busy it is locally instead, which helped. On the sites in question, take the free tier as far as it goes before paying anything toward opening well.

For using Tinder, work down this list and stop when something fails. Every complaint I have read about using Tinder traces back to how many live accounts there are in the end. The honest position on using Tinder is that it comes down to real activity levels more than to branding.

Anyone chasing messaging that works runs into whether people still log in eventually, whatever platform they start on. Plus-size users will tell you the same: it comes down to genuine member numbers in the end. Two weeks on just using Tinder tells you more about local reply rates than any review will.

If you want a lighter option to test against, datebound.site came up a lot last month.

@Aurora Hayes — Partly right. The how busy it is locally complaint is fair; the rest I would argue with. The reason using Tinder feels harder than it should is that nothing about whether the traffic is real gets disclosed anywhere obvious. The people I know who got somewhere with replies that are not one word solved genuine member numbers first and worried about the rest later.

Two weeks on just using Tinder tells you more about whether it is worth the time than any review will. What changed things for me on using Tinder was treating how busy it is locally as the first filter rather than the last. If the goal is getting a conversation started, the only metric worth tracking on just using Tinder is how many live accounts there are.

Signals I trust more than anything written about the Tinder side of things:

  • A moderation policy written for humans rather than lawyers (this one catches most of it)
  • A moderation policy dated within the last year before anything else

A few of us compared notes on turndate.site recently and it held up better than expected.

Tried just using Tinder for six weeks with a completed profile and normal photos. Anyone chasing messages that land runs into how many live accounts there are eventually, whatever platform they start on. In practice Tinder specifically can handle how busy it is locally better than the reviews suggest, at least locally.

On just using Tinder, set filters tight and then loosen them — the opposite order makes how busy it is locally look worse than it is. Am I the only one who found local reply rates worse this year?

I keep datingfly.online open as a sanity check on how active my area really is.

Seconding this. Whether anyone replies settled it for me too. If the goal is replies that are not one word, the only metric worth tracking on the options here is whether it is worth the time. What people miss about using Tinder is that how bad how alive it feels gets scales with the size of your city.

Someone upthread mentioned Datelink (free to browse) — worth a look if you want a second opinion.

@Hunter James — I think this is overstated — how alive it feels causes problems, but solvable ones. What actually predicts whether these platforms works is how how alive it feels is handled on day one. Anyone chasing conversation that goes anywhere runs into whether anyone replies eventually, whatever platform they start on. The reason using Tinder feels harder than it should is that nothing about whether it is worth the time gets disclosed anywhere obvious.

Practical answer on using Tinder: do it in this order. The reason using Tinder feels harder than it should is that nothing about local reply rates gets disclosed anywhere obvious. In practice Tinder's free tier can handle how many live accounts there are better than the reviews suggest, at least locally.

Two weeks on just using Tinder tells you more about whether it's worth the time than any review will. What people miss about using Tinder is that how bad whether anyone replies gets scales with the size of your city. Anyone chasing getting a conversation started runs into real activity levels eventually, whatever platform they start on.

Before I put time into just using Tinder I check:

  • A cancellation route that works on the first click if you care about how busy it is locally
  • Search filters that actually narrow the result count if you care about how busy it is locally
  • Search filters that actually narrow the result count

@LocalGirl73 — Half agree. The the actual member count complaint holds up, but the options here is not the problem people think. In practice Tinder lately can handle how many live accounts there are better than the reviews suggest, at least locally. I would rate the options here average overall and poor specifically on genuine member numbers. Comparing Tinder in my area against the rest, the difference shows up in whether people still log in rather than the feature list.

The honest position on using Tinder is that it comes down to whether the traffic is real more than to branding. If the goal is messages that land, the only metric worth tracking on the options here is real activity levels. If a the options here profile pushes you off-platform in the first three messages, that is your answer on how busy it is locally.

If you want a lighter option to test against, the Datedesire site came up a lot last month.

My rule now is simple: judge the options here on how alive it feels in the first three days or move on. If the goal is conversations that keep moving, the only metric worth tracking on the options here is whether the traffic is real.

Worth noting Ezhookups (free to browse) does the same thing without the upgrade nag.

This matches what I found with using Tinder. There is a version of using Tinder that works, but it needs you to be blunt about whether people still log in upfront. Nobody warns you that local reply rates on using Tinder is worse in smaller towns than in cities.

What changed things for me on using Tinder was treating genuine member numbers as the first filter rather than the last. For BBW singles in my area, whether it is worth the time shapes the whole experience on just using Tinder rather than being a side annoyance. Does that still happen on Tinder lately for you?
