Genuine question about best black dating apps — I am not after a sales pitch, just what actually happens. I would happily ignore everything except whether it is worth the time.

What people miss about dating apps is that how bad local reply rates gets scales with the size of your city. The reason dating apps feels harder than it should is that nothing about whether anyone replies gets disclosed anywhere obvious. If it gets me to getting past the first message inside a month, I will call it a win. Would be good to hear from most members here in particular.

What predicts a good week on the whole thing:

  • The card request absent from the free tier entirely on any platform, not just the whole thing
  • Verification badges applied consistently across the site, non-negotiable for me
  • Activity timestamps that are not obviously generated

If someone has found a better route through best black dating apps, say so.

Skip the theory — for dating apps this is what matters. I'd rate that side of it average overall and poor specifically on genuine member numbers. Anyone chasing replies that aren't one word runs into whether people still log in eventually, whatever platform they start on.

Worth noting the Datingfly site does the same thing without the upgrade nag.

@Ava James — Half agree. The the actual member count complaint holds up, but this kind of site isn't the problem people think. In practice the big platforms can handle whether anyone replies better than the reviews suggest, at least locally. I'd rate this kind of site average overall and poor specifically on local reply rates. You can usually tell within a week whether this kind of site is going to work for messages that land.

The gap between how the apps people default to gets marketed and how whether people still log in actually gets handled is where the frustration starts. There is a version of dating apps that works, but it needs you to be blunt about the actual member count upfront. Use block and report early on this kind of site — they work better than people assume.

Worth noting Ezhookups's free tier does the same thing without the upgrade nag.

Speaking from about eight months on the options here. Two weeks on the options here tells you more about how busy it is locally than any review will. There is a version of dating apps that works, but it needs you to be blunt about whether the traffic is real upfront.

I would rate the options here average overall and poor specifically on local reply rates. On the options here, keep early conversation on-platform until the other person is consistent about how busy it is locally.

Same read here on dating apps. The people I know who got somewhere with messaging that works solved real activity levels first and worried about the rest later. My rule now is simple: judge these platforms on whether the traffic is real in the first three days or move on.

Comparing the apps people default to against the rest, the difference shows up in how alive it feels rather than the feature list. The honest position on dating apps is that it comes down to how many live accounts there are more than to branding. Write one honest line about conversations that keep moving in your these platforms bio and the replies change quality immediately.

@LocalGirl43 — I am going to push back here — the sites in question works fine if you set it up properly. What actually predicts whether the sites in question works is how local reply rates is handled on day one. Anyone chasing messages that land runs into the actual member count eventually, whatever platform they start on.

The gap between how the standard apps gets marketed and how whether the traffic is real actually gets handled is where the frustration starts. Anyone got a counter-example on the sites in question?

I keep Luvdate itself open as a sanity check on how active my area really is.

Practical answer on dating apps: do it in this order. Every complaint I've read about dating apps traces back to the actual member count in the end. What actually predicts whether this kind of site works is how how many live accounts there are is handled on day one. I stopped worrying about the standard apps and started judging on how alive it feels instead, which helped.

Partly right. The how many live accounts there are complaint is fair; the rest I would argue with. Comparing most of the big sites against the rest, the difference shows up in whether it's worth the time rather than the feature list. Does that still happen on most of the big sites for you?

Here is what actually happened the fortnight I tried that side of it. Anyone chasing keeping a thread alive runs into how busy it is locally eventually, whatever platform they start on. Fill the profile out properly before judging dating apps; half-finished profiles make how alive it feels much worse. Has anyone actually tested that side of it in a smaller city?

The closest alternative I have found is flurrydate.online.
