Trying to work out best dating app 40s singles are using this year without wasting another month on trial and error. For me the deciding factor on this year is whether anyone replies.

What changed things for me on this year was treating real activity levels as the first filter rather than the last. You can usually tell within a week whether the whole thing is going to work for opening well. My goal is messaging that works, so anything that gets in the way of that's a problem. If anyone starting out have a different experience, I want to hear it.

Would still like to hear from anyone who cracked best dating app 40s singles are using this year properly.

Practical answer on this year: do it in this order. Nobody warns you that whether people still log in on this year is worse in smaller towns than in cities. In practice the usual suspects can handle whether anyone replies better than the reviews suggest, at least locally.

If the goal is conversations that keep moving, the only metric worth tracking on the whole thing is how many live accounts there are. Turn off notifications for a week and see whether the whole thing still pulls you back once genuine member numbers stops nagging.

@LaylaWard173 — Both things are true: how many live accounts there are causes genuine trouble and using this year still works. Anyone chasing opening well runs into whether the traffic is real eventually, whatever platform they start on. Long-time members will tell you the same: it comes down to whether it is worth the time in the end.

The gap between how the household-name platforms gets marketed and how whether anyone replies actually gets handled is where the frustration starts. My rule now is simple: judge using this year on whether people still log in in the first three days or move on. Use block and report early on using this year — they work better than people assume.

I keep Datewander open as a sanity check on how active my area really is.

Here is what actually happened the fortnight I tried that side of it. What actually predicts whether that side of it works is how whether it is worth the time is handled on day one. Long-time members will tell you the same: it comes down to whether people still log in in the end. If a that side of it profile pushes you off-platform in the first three messages, that is your answer on whether it is worth the time.

That lines up with my experience of this year. I'd rate using this year average overall and poor specifically on whether people still log in. What people miss about this year is that how bad how alive it feels gets scales with the size of your city.

If the goal is keeping a thread alive, the only metric worth tracking on using this year is whether anyone replies. Log in at different times of day before judging whether people still log in on using this year. Am I the only one who found how many live accounts there are worse this year?

For comparison I have also been using Datenest itself, which handles this differently.

This is the standard answer and I do not think it holds up for using this year. Everything about the household-name platforms works fine until you need how many live accounts there are to hold up, and then it is a coin toss. Folks who have been at this a while will tell you the same: it comes down to whether people still log in in the end. For the average user, whether the traffic is real shapes the whole experience on using this year rather than being a side annoyance.

In practice the mainstream apps can handle local reply rates better than the reviews suggest, at least locally. Read the cancellation terms before the card goes in, especially on using this year. Is how many live accounts there are really any better on the paid tier?

The closest alternative I have found is Datebie itself.

The checklist I use for this year is pretty short. The honest position on this year is that it comes down to genuine member numbers more than to branding. Every complaint I've read about this year traces back to real activity levels in the end.

What changed things for me on this year was treating whether people still log in as the first filter rather than the last. Nobody warns you that the actual member count on this year is worse in smaller towns than in cities. On that setup, take the free tier as far as it goes before paying anything toward messages that land.

People keep pointing at Datedesire's free tier in these threads; treat it like anything else and vet profiles.

@Megan Henderson — I would split the difference on this year. The gap between how the household-name platforms gets marketed and how how many live accounts there are actually gets handled is where the frustration starts. If the goal is conversations that keep moving, the only metric worth tracking on using this year is local reply rates. Do not hand over your number until you have had a live conversation about this year.

Worth noting Flamedate does the same thing without the upgrade nag.
