I've a specific question about how to find active jerk off chat rooms that aren't completely and I would rather hear it from people who have used them. The bit nobody writes about honestly is how many live accounts there are.

Anyone chasing talking properly runs into how alive it feels eventually, whatever platform they start on. You can usually tell within a week whether that side of it is going to work for getting a conversation started. The target is keeping a thread alive, so I want to know what actually delivers that. Interested in whether folks who have been at this a while see it the same way.

Signals I trust more than anything written about chat rooms generally:

  • An unsubscribe link that does not route through a survey, non-negotiable for me
  • An inbox preview showing real timestamps
  • Profile photos with real context rather than gym mirrors only if you care about whether people still log in
  • A moderation policy you can find without digging (this one catches most of it)
  • Distance filters that behave sensibly at range (this one catches most of it)

Anyway, that's where I've landed on how to find active jerk off chat rooms that aren't completely for now.

Here is how I'd approach aren't completely if I were starting over. The average user will tell you the same: it comes down to whether it's worth the time in the end. The honest position on aren't completely is that it comes down to whether people still log in more than to branding.

@Evan Cooper — It is more mixed than that — these platforms depends on how you use it. The people I know who got somewhere with actually getting a reply solved how busy it is locally first and worried about the rest later. For folks who have been at this a while, whether the traffic is real shapes the whole experience on these platforms rather than being a side annoyance. The honest position on aren't completely is that it comes down to real activity levels more than to branding.

Here is what actually happened the fortnight I tried the options here. Two weeks on the options here tells you more about genuine member numbers than any review will. Folks who have been at this a while will tell you the same: it comes down to whether the traffic is real in the end.

Everything about chat sites like that works fine until you need the actual member count to hold up, and then it is a coin toss. The reason aren't completely feels harder than it should is that nothing about whether it is worth the time gets disclosed anywhere obvious. Anyone chasing getting a conversation started runs into how many live accounts there are eventually, whatever platform they start on.

Quick list of what actually matters for opening well:

  • Profile photos that survive a reverse image search (this one catches most of it)
  • A moderation policy that names what gets removed (this one catches most of it)
  • Activity timestamps that match the reply rate you actually get every single time
  • An unsubscribe link that does not route through a survey every single time

For comparison I have also been using the Datescout site, which handles this differently.

Seconding this. Real activity levels settled it for me too. Two weeks on this tells you more about how many live accounts there are than any review will. The gap between how chat sites like that gets marketed and how whether it is worth the time actually gets handled is where the frustration starts.

Anyone chasing talking properly runs into local reply rates eventually, whatever platform they start on. My rule now is simple: judge this on the actual member count in the first three days or move on. Turn off notifications for a week and see whether this still pulls you back once how many live accounts there are stops nagging.

@LocalGuy10 — I think this is overstated — how busy it's locally causes problems, but solvable ones. The people I know who got somewhere with messaging that works solved whether anyone replies first and worried about the rest later. The reason aren't completely feels harder than it should is that nothing about how alive it feels gets disclosed anywhere obvious.

The honest position on aren't completely is that it comes down to local reply rates more than to branding. The gap between how chat rooms generally gets marketed and how genuine member numbers actually gets handled is where the frustration starts. Screenshot anything resembling a payment trap on that setup and report it.

Three things I look at where how busy it is locally comes into it:

  • Profile photos that are not obviously lifted from somewhere else (this one catches most of it)
  • The card request that never appears before the first reply (this one catches most of it)

I keep Datelink itself open as a sanity check on how active my area really is.

Skip the theory — for aren't completely this is what matters. For people I've compared notes with, real activity levels shapes the whole experience on that side of it rather than being a side annoyance. If the goal is conversations that keep moving, the only metric worth tracking on that side of it is the actual member count.

On that side of it, take the free tier as far as it goes before paying anything toward keeping a thread alive. Has anyone actually tested that side of it in a smaller city?

A few of us compared notes on the Luvdate site recently and it held up better than expected.
